RECare

Your Rural Electric Cooperative has always extended a helping hand to those needing it. Now, in response to actions by the Iowa General Assembly, your REC has established RECare, a program of members helping members. RECare will provide funds to be distributed by local community action agencies to help pay winter heating bills and to assist in weatherizations of homes of low income consumers. You may make a onetime contribution or you may make a monthly pledge that will be automatically added onto your monthly electric bill.

Weatherization Rebates

In an effort to promote environmental responsibility and energy efficiency, the cooperative will provide rebates on specific weatherization building materials and products.  Members installing and utilizing weatherization building materials and products will help in protecting the environment, and save energy and lower utility bills.

Qualifying products, but not limited to:

Water Heater Rebates

The Cooperative sells the Marathon Water Heater, which is warranted not to leak as long as you own your home. Rebates are available for current members of the Cooperative. The rebate on a 50 gallon model is $250. The rebate on the 85 gallon is $300 and 105 gallon model is $350 and the Hybrid Heat Pump is $500. I have attached some information on the Marathon water heaters and also an advertisement that you may want to use.

Appliance Rebates

In an effort to promote environmental responsibility and energy efficiency, the cooperative will provide rebates on specific ENERGY STAR qualified appliances. Earning the ENERGY STAR means a product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. Members utilizing ENERGY STAR qualified appliances will help protect the environment, save energy and lower utility bills.

Members of the cooperative may qualify for the following rebates:
