OEC Community Solar Project

June 2016 OEC energized its community solar program, 560 panels were available for members-owners to purchase.  The project has 38 panels available for purchase.  Every month total production is shared with individual member-owners at a percentage of panels owned.  Monthly a credit is applied to member-owners electric bills.  Annually the credit per KWH is calculated equaling OEC's single phase average KWH cost.  This credit increases/decreases with the current single-phase cost per KWH, if OEC's electric rates increase/decrease the credit per KWH increases/decreases.

Please contact the office for more information.

Billing for Behind-the-Meter Distributed Generation

This is for qualified members who owned solar or wind power generation behind the meter.  If member size their distributed generation to historical annual average KW, OEC will pay wholesale power costs for KWH the member puts back on OEC's grid.  For those who choose to oversize their distributed generation system, up to current transformer size or less than 49 KW AC, the member will be reimbursed PURPA rate calculated annually by Basin Electric Power Cooperative.

Please contact the office prior to purchasing distributed generation for rules and regulations.
